FIA Principal, David Goldwasser, has over 20 years of litigation and crisis management experience and has been chief restructuring officer in many bankruptcy cases, as well as having been approved and appointed manager of an entity on behalf of the debtor in the New York State Bankruptcy Court Southern District of New York against three objections of creditors by the Hon. Judge Robert D. Drain.
In addition to having a tremendous amount of real estate experience in the acquisition and disposition of properties and mortgage loans, repositioning of properties, loan workouts, new construction and related litigation management, his experience includes the wind down of a mid-size corporation with over 1,000 employees and 17 locations, various property types on a local and national level. He has served as an advisor to several large real estate groups as well as family offices and has served as Director of Acquisitions and head of Construction Management.
Mr. Goldwasser has structured numerous real estate and business deals in New York, Florida and the West Coast and has been successful in raising capital from a diverse group of high-net-worth investors, institutions, and money managers. He has served as Regional Project Manager for Nicon Construction in South Florida, where he managed in excess of $45,000,000 of disaster relief construction from Hurricane Wilma, running a workforce in excess of 300 people
Yitz Taub, CPA, oversees all financial, accounting, and operational aspects of the firm and its investment vehicles. Yitz is responsible for maximizing stakeholder value throughout the life-cycles of a company or investment, from pre-acquisition through investment exit while ensuring that FIA’s clients and stakeholders see efficiency improvements, reporting to required standards, timely returns on their investments, as well as building and fostering the firm’s strong financing relationships.
Since joining the firm, Yitz has been involved in over sixty engagements spanning multiple industries primarily in real estate and also including construction, healthcare, retail, fashion, manufacturing, asset management, professional services, and food, among others. Yitz has advised management teams through financial and managerial crises, complex operational and financial restructurings, and both micro and macro strategic planning.
Prior to joining FIA in 2016, Yitz held various financial and accounting positions at several Miami based real estate development firms. Yitz began his career at Deloitte & Touche LLP in New York City. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Yeshiva University Sy Syms School of Business and is a certified public accountant in the states of New York and Florida. Yitz has over 11 years of experience in the finance and investment industry.
FIA Senior Managing Director/Head of Bankruptcy, Mark Taub, has over 20 years of experience as a bankruptcy attorney, restructuring advisor and distressed investor advising debtors, creditors and investors in distressed companies and investing across the capital structure of distressed companies. In addition to representing individual parties in each of these capacities, Mr. Taub has also sat on a number of official and ad hoc committees and has been an active participant in the bankruptcy process where necessary to enhance client value.
Mr. Taub's experience spans a wide variety of industries, including real estate, healthcare, oil & gas, power, automotive, airline and crypto mining. At FIA, Mr. Taub manages a group that provides restructuring advisory services to real estate and business owners facing financial distress.
Mr. Taub began his career as a bankruptcy and restructuring attorney at Fried Frank and prior to joining FIA, worked at several institutional investors as a portfolio manager. Mr. Taub holds a J.D. From the University of Pennsylvania Law School and is admitted to the New York State Bar.

FIA Managing Director, Jonathan S. Pasternak, practiced law for over 35 years and now takes his skill set into the consulting and investment advisory/banking fields. Mr. Pasternak has previously worked at several law firms in the New York area, serving as managing partner and practice chair.
Additionally, Mr. Pasternak is a member of numerous national and regional business associations and has lectured before various professional associations throughout New York and Westchester County. He has been quoted frequently in Crain’s, The Deal, the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and other industry publications and newspapers.
Mr. Pasternak resides in Tenafly, NJ with his wife and 2 dogs and is the father of 3 with 2 grandchildren. He is an avid runner, singer, guitarist, and performer as well.
Ms. Pogrebov advises real estate sponsors and borrowers on complex loan workouts, financial restructurings, distressed debt and special situations. She develops and implements restructuring strategies tailored to each borrower’s financial position, collateral, business plan and stakeholder objectives.
Her experience includes structuring and negotiating forbearance agreements, discounted payoffs, loan reinstatements, maturity extensions and loan modifications. She works closely with lenders, servicers, special servicers, legal counsel and other stakeholders to achieve consensual, out-of-court solutions. Ms. Pogrebov also evaluates restructuring alternatives and prepares lender-engagement strategies, financial proposals and proposed transaction terms.
Prior to joining FIA Capital Partners, Ms. Pogrebov worked as a real estate investment analyst at Bridgewater Capital Partners, where she underwrote commercial real estate transactions and assisted clients in sourcing debt and equity capital.
Ms. Pogrebov holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Investments from Baruch College of the City University of New York and a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance and Investment from the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate.
